Machine-Readable, Not Just Crawlable
Structured data, clean entity definitions and a published llms.txt, so AI systems read a description you wrote rather than one they inferred.

A growing share of buyers now put their question to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot or Google’s AI Overviews and act on the answer without visiting a single website. If your business is not among the sources those systems draw on, you are invisible in that conversation — no matter where you rank in the traditional results.
Generative engine optimisation is the work of becoming a source AI systems can find, parse and cite correctly. It overlaps with SEO but is not the same job: search rewards position, generative engines reward being quotable and unambiguous.
Structured data, clean entity definitions and a published llms.txt, so AI systems read a description you wrote rather than one they inferred.
Assistants weigh corroboration across sources. If your name, location and founding year disagree across directories, they hedge — or pick the wrong one.
codelabs.ae publishes its own llms.txt. We are not recommending something we have only read about.
Assistants corroborate. We align your name, location and facts across the directories and profiles they read.
Organization, Service, FAQ and Article markup implemented against the spec, not sprinkled and hoped for.
GEO tracking is immature. We tell you what can be measured, what can only be sampled, and we do not invent a rank number.
The rebuild of our own search foundation included publishing llms.txt so AI answer engines read a description we wrote rather than one they inferred. Clicks up 126%, crawl waste down 78%.
We put your buyers' real questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and AI Overviews and record what comes back — including who gets cited instead of you.
Schema, entity definitions, llms.txt, and the factual pages an assistant needs to answer confidently about you.
Clear claims, plain figures, self-contained answers. Assistants lift passages that stand on their own; marketing prose does not survive extraction.
The same questions asked again on a schedule, so you can see whether you are being cited more often than before.
How ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and AI Overviews currently answer questions about you — and who they cite instead.
A machine-readable description of what you do, so assistants stop inferring it from scraps.
Organization, Service, FAQ, Article and Breadcrumb schema, validated rather than assumed.
Name, address, founding year and service list aligned across the directories assistants corroborate against.
Key pages rewritten so claims are self-contained and extractable, rather than dependent on surrounding prose.
The same buyer questions re-sampled on a schedule, with a record of whether you were cited.
GEO does not replace SEO. Crawlability and indexing remain the floor; we keep both moving together.
What changed, what is still not working, and what is genuinely too early to tell.
Audit, llms.txt, schema and entity cleanup, with quarterly re-sampling.
GEO and SEO run together, with ongoing content rewrites and monthly citation tracking.
Common questions about GEO, AI search and being cited by assistants.
It is the work of getting your business accurately represented and cited when someone asks an AI assistant a question instead of using a search box. Traditional SEO competes for a position on a results page. GEO competes to be one of the sources the assistant draws its answer from.
No, and be careful of anyone who says it does. Assistants still crawl the open web, so if your pages are not indexable you are invisible to both. GEO sits on top of solid SEO rather than instead of it — which is why we run them together.
No. Nobody can, and any agency promising it is selling something they cannot deliver. What we can do is remove the reasons an assistant would skip you or describe you wrongly, then measure whether citations improve.
Honestly: imperfectly. There is no rank tracker for AI answers. We sample — asking a fixed set of your buyers' real questions across the major assistants on a schedule and recording whether you appear and how you are described. It is a sample, and we report it as one.
A plain-text file at your domain root describing what your organisation does and pointing at your key pages, written for AI systems rather than people. It is a young convention, not yet universally consumed, and cheap to publish. codelabs.ae has one, which is how we know what it does and does not do.
Slower than SEO, and less predictable. Assistants refresh their view of a business on their own schedule. We would expect a first meaningful re-sample at three months, and we will tell you if nothing has moved.
