Liaquat National Hospital, Karachi
Liaquat National Hospital is one of Karachi’s largest private teaching hospitals. Booking a consultation there meant calling a helpline or queuing at a counter, with no reliable way to see which consultant had availability. LNH Care moves that whole process onto the patient’s phone — browse consultants by name or department, see live slots and fees, book, pay and keep every upcoming visit in one place.
CodeLabs built and shipped the app on both platforms. It is live on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, and has passed 10,000+ downloads on Android.
The brief was not simply “an app”. It was to make an appointment something a patient could complete in under a minute, on a mid-range Android phone, on a patchy connection — and to have it hold up against the hospital’s live scheduling.
A hospital of this size runs hundreds of consultants across dozens of departments. We mapped how patients actually search — by doctor name, by department, or by the soonest available slot — and made all three first-class paths rather than burying two of them in a filter.
A calm, high-contrast interface built for a very wide audience — elderly patients, first-time smartphone users, and attendants booking on someone else’s behalf. Consultant, department, timing and fee are visible before commitment, so nothing is a surprise at the counter.
A single cross-platform codebase shipping to both stores, wired into the hospital’s scheduling so availability and fees are read live rather than duplicated. Appointments, day-care surgery booking and tele-medicine each run as their own flow with push notifications for reminders and changes.
Tested across a wide spread of Android hardware and screen sizes, plus iPhone, iPad and Apple Silicon Macs. The app declares no data collection and no data sharing in its store listings — a deliberate constraint for a healthcare product, and one that shaped what the app stores and what it simply requests when needed.
LNH Care is live on both stores and past 10,000 downloads on Android alone, with a release cadence that has continued well past launch. Patients who previously had to call a helpline or arrive early and wait now choose a consultant, a department and a time from their phone — and the hospital gets appointment demand as structured data instead of a queue at the desk.
