Senior UI/UX Designer

About the role

Lead design across client projects — web platforms, mobile apps and e-commerce — from first wireframe to developer handoff, and raise the design bar for the whole studio.

Design at Codelabs is hands-on and end-to-end: you take a client brief, run it through user flows, wireframes and prototypes, test it, and hand polished UI to developers you sit next to. As the senior designer you also set the standard — building the component libraries, reviewing junior work, and representing design in client conversations. Our portfolio spans healthcare apps, edtech products, e-commerce stores and AI dashboards; you'll touch all of them.

What you'll do

• Own the design process on client projects: research, flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, prototypes
• Design responsive web, mobile app and e-commerce interfaces in Figma
• Build and maintain reusable component libraries and design systems across projects
• Run usability checks and iterate on real feedback, not taste alone
• Prepare precise developer handoffs and review the implemented UI against your specs
• Present and defend design decisions directly to clients

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of product/UI design experience with a portfolio that shows shipped work
• Expert-level Figma: components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping
• Strong grasp of responsive behaviour, mobile platform conventions and accessibility basics
• Experience designing within technical constraints and existing brand systems
• Clear communication in English — you can explain why, not just show what
• Based in Karachi; this is an on-site studio role

Nice to have

• Motion design / micro-interaction skills
• Basic HTML/CSS understanding for realistic handoffs
• Experience designing RTL (Arabic) interfaces for GCC clients
