Senior Software QA Engineer

About the role

Own quality across web, mobile and ERP deliveries — test strategy, automation, and release sign-off — so nothing ships to a client that you haven't tried to break first.

Codelabs ships web platforms, mobile apps, e-commerce stores and ERP implementations to clients who rely on them daily. As Senior QA Engineer you own the quality bar across all of it: designing test strategies per project, building automation where it pays for itself, running structured manual and exploratory testing where it doesn't, and holding the release gate. You'll work inside project teams from kickoff — quality as a discipline, not a final-week checkbox.

What you'll do

• Define test strategy per project: what gets automated, what gets scripted manual coverage, what gets exploratory passes
• Build and maintain automated test suites for web (Playwright/Selenium/Cypress) and API layers (Postman/pytest)
• Test mobile apps across real devices: functional, regression, and release-candidate passes for both stores
• Run structured QC on deliverables: cross-browser, responsive, performance and data-integrity checks
• Own defect lifecycle: clear reproducible reports, severity triage, verification of fixes
• Hold the release gate — sign off before anything reaches a client environment

What we're looking for

• 4+ years in software QA across web and mobile projects
• Hands-on test automation experience with at least one modern framework (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium)
• API testing skills (Postman, REST clients) and comfort reading logs and browser dev tools
• Strong test-case design: you can show us suites you've written and the bugs they caught
• Meticulous written bug reports in clear English — developers act on your reports without a follow-up call
• Based in Karachi; this is an on-site role

Nice to have

• Performance testing (JMeter, k6) or basic security testing exposure
• Experience testing ERP systems or complex business workflows
• CI pipeline integration for automated suites
